Alright here is my problem.  I installed dnn 3.2.2 on my website, derekserver.com.  I at first had it at derekserver.com:89, then I moved it over to dnn.derekserver.com.  I purchased a new site, wdw-team.com, and decided I would use the dnn site i had already designed and use it for that site too.  So under my aliases for the portal, I have: localhost:89, derekserver.com:89, dnn.derekserver.com, and www.wdw-team.com.  The portal will allow me to login with any of them except the wdw-team.com site.  I have both www.wdw-team.com, dnn.derekserver.com, and derekserver.com:89 in the host headers for the virtual server too, so I am kind of stuck with why it won't authenticate me in either firefox or IE6.  I tried clearing cookies and checking web.config, everything was ok there.  I also tried changing the host name in the host settings to www.wdw-team.com and that didn't work so I changed it back to www.derekserver.com.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!
Derek

I have a similar problem with 4.0.2. I can login to the portal under mysite.brinkster.com. However, when when I try and login into the same portal using the associate alias, mydomain.com, then it does not login, none of the menus change and the whose logged in shows no change. If I login as an administrator and look at the logs it shows that I have logged in.

yeah it shows my successful authentication in the logs too, but i think it may be a cookie problem. something to do with how some cookies are setup to authenticate to the domain u use when u install. just throwin it out there.

Is this something that I can change by editing the web.config file. I cannot find any detailed documentation about this.

I think I may have temporarily solved this problem, atleast for myself.  I am running ZoneAlarm Pro firewall and when I realized I could access the site under both aliases on the actual server, I disabled zonealarm on my laptop and it authenticated. I think it may have to do with how zonealarm decides who to trust and who not to and I think I may have to add the site to the trusted zones for it to work, but for right now until I have time to fiddle, I am going to use windows firewall for now.
