Brandon,

Perhaps I am misunderstanding your work around.  Even if I embed the image in the library I still need to supply the URL to the ModuleAction class.  If this URL is /WebResource.axd?YADAYADA, the ActionButton still misinterprets it as a subpath of ~/images.  This path is incorrect and does fail {just tested it}.

I have logged the bug, any other ideas?

Steve

Hi Steve,

I could have sworn that GetWebResourceUrl returned an absolute URI, but I clearly am mistaken.  Regardless, after consideration, it isn't even necessary to embed the image; any absolute URI will pass the IndexOf() check by moving the first slash out of the 0th position.  You'll just have to deal with secured and unsecured schemes explicitly.

Something akin to: new Uri(new UriBuilder(Request.Url.Scheme, Request.UserHostName).Uri, ResolveUrl("~/DesktopModules"))

You can do the whole thing with a UriBuilder if you're okay with having the portname present (using another overload).

For those keeping score, the work item is located here.  Thanks for logging it!

Brandon

Brandon,

Ok, so that works for the actionbutton as expected.  The only problem now is that the solpartmenu item does not display the icon.  It looks like the solpartmenu interprets it as a relative path.  You might want to take a look at this as well.

For now, as this particular module is custom for a client I will place the icon in the ~/images directory where the rest of the default DNN images are.

Well it looks like we just can't win here!

Your conclusion seems the most straightfoward until the bug is corrected.
