For some reason when I log in using the IP Address, I can log into the site.  When I use the URL, I cannot log in at all.   Other than logging in, the site works fine... but I cannot log in.

A little background on the site.  It was originally the http://IPAddress/VirtualFolder     I moved the site to a root website on the server  ...I added the URL to  Site Settings -> Portal Aliases   ... now I have a URL that points to http://IPAddress   When I go in through the URL, the site works fine, but I cannot log in.  When I log in through the IP Address, I cannot log in at all... no error message, it just takes me back to the main screen.

After I changed the site to the root, I had to go into every image on the site and get rid of the virtual directory name... there must be something in the database I need to edit to make this work.

Can someone please help me with this?

 Hmm.  I have not seen this before.  Have you tried login out of the URL, close the browser, clear your cache and then open the browser and try again.

I tried that several times... what ended up causing the problem was I had several Aliases, after I removed all but the one I was using, it worked fine.
