To Whom May Be Of Assistance

As webmaster, I'm current using DNN for a government Intranet as part of several other intranets. This site is being hosted outside at a gov't hosting service. We have recently purchased an IIS box to use internally and would like to host DNN on it as well, but here's my query regarding configuration;

We would like to use our outside intranet site as our central portal or entry point by using the registration/login of that site as an entry point for our new server internally. Being government the security is paramount. Can this be done? What questions do I need to ask the IT LAN support people internally to make this happen? Can I change the direction of the external login?

Any thoughts or diagrams would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Darryl

For DNN it would mean writing a custom provider for the login.

Wait, these are both DNN, so you might want to change to using the AD Provider, or CardSpace/OpenID/Whatever. That way you have a universal authentication that will work on both sites.
