I have this error too. When trying to run SQL Script.

This is also a error message most time occurs in development periond, it means you should write the code like this DataProvider.Instance() not DataProvider.Instance, please notice, there must be a () after Instance.

It must be something in the upgrade process from 4.8.4 to 4.9.0 that has caused this issue because I have other instances of DNN that were initial installs starting with 4.9.0 that this Host->SQL page works perfectly fine. Fortunately this is not customer facing and I have other ways to perform the tasks that I usually do in this page, it was just a nice easily accessible way to perform those tasks.

Anyone else with the DNN Core team aware that and upgrade from 4.8.4 to 4.9.0 might be causing this?

Thanks!

In the code is well write... DataProvider.Instance()

I change the database from SQLExpress to SQL Server 2005 and it works fine. Bug?

did you make sure, that the database connection string has been entered correctly and identically in both places in your web.config file?
