Hello there,

After making efforts I am now able to up DotNetNuke 4.0.2 on my local system. but here are some issues I wanna help  specially to whom who work with DotNetNukes.

1). Is there any way that I can achieve single sign-on ( means only one user can sign in at a time). I think it will be possible by making changes in Login Control ( constructor implementing singleton design pattern.

2). Other things is can some one can tell that is there any tool that we can merge the change made by different team developers on their own local app servers and data bases by using DotNetNuke.. Mean any body know about any code or data base Merger/integrator tool.

With Regards.

First off, you've got the wrong concept for single sign-on (SSO). SSO means that you only have to log on one time and get to all your applications. This is typically done via Windows authentication. You can have reduced sign-on (RSO) if you are authenticating thru another system; but this doesn't, in itself, limit the number of times a person can login - if that's what you're getting at.

Second, you need to look into configuration management tools. I suggest Subversion and TortoiseSVN. This combination has proven to work quite well on small and large, medium-sized teams. There is a built-in merge tool, so team development is quite possible and quite easy. Merging changes won't be your biggest problem, tho. Your biggest problem will be working with different versions of the same module. If you are all working on different modules at once, then you can avoid this problem. If not, there are a few work-arounds that I've found to make life a little easier. Everyone's environment is different, tho. There are too many concepts to discuss here and now, but this should be a start to get you headed down the right path.

First of all thanx Flanakin for your quick and informative reply I am new in programming and also in DotNetNukes, i am looking into these source code control & merging tools, but our real concern is that, let me explain the scenario "When different developers will be work on the same module on their own local web server and local databases and after testing their work they will have to merge the module application and data base changes to the main Development server".

For example if these two different developer make changes on the same page (Here we know that DotNetNuke save UI changes in the database) and problem is that "How we merge these UI and database changes on the main server? " .

Once again thanx in advance.
