Over the last year we have developed a suite of modules that integrate into DotNetNuke to provide a multifaceted social networking website. There are many features you would expect from such a suite, as well as quite a few other modules that are unique to our design.
Large file upload, video conversion to Flash Video, thumbnail generation and watermarking videos are simplified. Each user has their own file repository for Video, Images and Audio files.
Images can be uploaded as a zipfile, then tagged as a group. Upon upload the zipfile is extracted and the images are placed into your repository and marked according to the tags given.
Content and Media files are easily searched by keyword, tag, as well as a variety of modules for Latest and Popular and random content.
User profiles are expanded to show a list of articles, media files, recommendations and rating for that user, as well as an expanded biography and blog section. Featured / Latest Profile, and random profile modules are included.
The P2P Networking section includes private video messaging, friends import from live.com/gmail/yahoo contacts lists to simplify sending invitations to your friends. As well, the modules work together to include these components throughout the website.
Overall there are about 50 modules included in the suite. We have found the greatest learning curve is when installing and configuring the modules, so we have created a blank DNN website and database that includes all of the modules set up in a variety of configurations for easy modification to your needs and requirements. This website/database is provided as a single zipfile or on a DVD.
