Not sure if you are saying you simply want to move the menu from the top and place it somewhere else or completely remove it.  Either way the way to customize the look of your site is to apply another skin.  Whether you decide to code a new skin, purchase one, simply apply an existing free one is up to you.  To apply a skin log in as an admin of your portal, go to the Admin menu, choose Site Settings and you will see a dropdown where you can select a different skin.  Try one of the vertical ones to switch from a dropdown menu at the top to a treeview at the left.

Thanks Jon

I have been customising a skin, we just want to turn off the drop down menus at the top, keep the buttons but no drop down menus when you go over them. I just need to turn those off. There is a left navigation already which I have set up.

Just need to know how to turn off the peskie dropdown menus

I think I found if I make the sub sections pages hidden it doesnt show them in the dd menu, I can specify in the left nad menu (inventua side menu) to show hidden pages.

Id theres a quicker way of doing this I be happy to hear it.
