I have DNN Version 4.08.04 installed with Blog version 3.04.  When I add the Blog module to a page and then create a new blog entry everything seems to work fine.  However when I click on Read More... or Comments or the Title of the blog the page just refreshes and the actual Blog entry page where the Content is displayed with the Date etc. doe not display.  I have uninstalled the module, deleted the page, put the module on different pages and tried various other things but it doesn't work.  I have other DNN sites that the blog works fine but this one install doesn't work.

Could someone please help me?? Please!?!?

Hi Jasono,

I was unable to reproduce the issue, or see it live on your website, so here I give you some suggestion:

  1. Check if the automatic summary generation works properly, and give your summary a bunch of plain text such as "Lorem ipsum".
  2. Revert to the original "blue" skin.

Let us know if this fixed the issue.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Dario,

I have tried to revert to the original "blue" skin but it is still not working.  I also try to see if the summary generation works and it does.  The edit entry link works and takes me to the editor area, it seems to save whatever is typed into the wysiwyg editors.  then when the content is saved it appears.  However when you click on Read More... or the Title the page just refreshes.  There are a lot of Cache files in my cache file under the portal like this TabModule_35_en-US.resources.  Could these have something to do with it?  The blog page is here: http://64.251.202.203/Blog/tabid/243/List/0/Default.aspx for you to view.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply.

Best,

Jason

Hi Jasono,

I don't think the issue resides in the cache files, but clearing them would help. Other things that worth give them a try:

  1. Temporarily disable friendly URLs.
  2. Temporarily disable RadMenu from that page.
  3. Try to place an instance of the module on another clean page, without any other module or menu.

Let me know if you have any news. Everything looks like another application is not validating an input in some hidden form.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Hi Jasono,

The generated "Read More..." links are in the correct format.
They even send you to the correct page however, a closer inspection with Fiddler reveiles that somewhere on this page a page redirect [Response StatusCode 302] occurs which sends you back to the listing.
This seem to rule out a problem with the friendly url module because this would not trigger a client-side redirect [Response StatusCode 302].

Hope this helps you pinpoint the problem.

Best,

Alex
