Its the naughty word filter in action .. we dont want any of that kind of language in here! Ur not allowed to use dirty words like the s-word, s-c-r-i-p-t or the f word, f-u-n-c-t-i-o-n ;)

I believe "alert" was fixed in 4.9, and is now off of the naughty-list.

it was done to ensure that page's wouldn't break as posters kept of posting large sections of asp.net pages in their message (asp.net does not like finding duplicate entries for some of it's automatic fields). However IMO the check and replacement is over the top, i suggested a tighter check and a different replacement ages ago, but for some reason it's not happened - i'll chase it down and see what happened.
