Hello,

I am hoping someone can please help me with this, it's happening on both of my websites and I just can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

I need to create a test copy of my website. I create a copy of the website and the database and put it on a different server. I follow the documentation to change the web.config file. After I do this, all of the links in the test copy redirect me to the live site and I can't even get to the administration.

A clean installation of dnn works fine on this server so I don't think it's a server issue.

I did the same for our second website and now the test version gives me a bad host file error and I can't get the site to come up at all.

What am I doing wrong when I set up these test copies? Thank you for your help!

please add the new site address as additional portal alias (login as superuser "host", go to site settings and add the alias at the bottom of the page), prior to duplicating your db.
