Or whatever its called

I am just building a whole new portal and need to change the look and feel of the registration page.  I know before you start to shoult that this is frowned upon and will be overwritten in any upgrades, but this site really needs to look good so I have to.

Now I have done this before on 4.4 but I cant now seem to find the file that I should change to custom style my registration page.  Any ideas folks

I think the files have changed since 4.4 as there was a registration.ascx in the security folder.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul,

User registration has been significantly abstracted since 4.4.  The public registration page uses Users/ManageUsers.ascx an entry point.  This control, while in registration mode, loads Users/User.ascx.  This control uses a PropertyEditorControl for registration properties, and then some ad-hoc input boxes for the password.

Note that in 4.9 there is a lot of overlap between public and admin-based registration, so changes in one area may affect the other.

Finally, there are a number of third-party modules that allow customization of the registration process.  Not only is this forward-compatible, but it also removes the admin/user overlap issue referenced above.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for that Bradon

I thought as much after looking through the code. As for the third party modules I havent found any that you can customise the way they look.   All seem to have endless customisation of the functionality of the regsiration process but not the look and feel

Cheers

If I am wrong on this matter please let me know

Thanks again

Though I believe I have seen at least one module that offers significant look-and-feel customization, I do not recall which one it was (I never used it directly).  So, I suspect at least one such module exists, but others will have to chime in with some specifics.

I'd appreciate anyone doing so; I have also been contemplating the deployment of such a module.
