Can anyone please explain how I can create a separate instance of the blog module?

I'd like to have a public blog that all can see, and a separate blog that only registered users of my portal can see.

Thanks in advance.

I didn't look hard enough the first time.  My question was answered here.

Hi Mfox,

all the instances of the blog module whithin a portal share the same content. You can place as many instances of the module wherever in your pages using the admin control panel. If you want to have some content available to the public, you should post it into a public blog, then place an instance of the module on a public page, and set the public blog as Personal Blog Page in Module Settings. All the content you would like to be visible only to registered users should be posted on a separate private blog, then place an instance of the module on a page visible only to registered users, and set the private blog as Personal Blog Page in Module Settings. Let me know if this suits your needs.

Best  regards,
Dario Rossa
