Error: User Roles is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: String reference not set to an instance of a String. Parameter name: name ---> System.ArgumentNullException: String reference not set to an instance of a String. Parameter name: name at System.Globalization.CultureInfo..ctor(String name, Boolean useUserOverride) at DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController.SendNotification(UserInfo objUser, RoleInfo objRole, PortalSettings PortalSettings, String Action) at DotNetNuke.Security.Roles.RoleController.AddUserRole(UserInfo objUser, RoleInfo objRole, PortalSettings PortalSettings, DateTime effDate, DateTime expDate, Int32 userId, Boolean notifyUser) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Security.SecurityRoles.cmdAdd_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I get this error when adding a role to a user. Maybe this has to do with the notification email that is sent?

Accepted Answer

you probably imported this user

the issue is caused by a preferred language not set for that user. You can do that manually, or force setting of the language in the import tool you are using

Additionally, as I recall, the role IS added successfully to the user despite the error.

Thanks for the help! (and it does successfully add the role despite the error)

I previously had a problem with registration so i created a manual registration form outside the portal, but since then I have corrected the issue. My SQL command in the manual reg tool was not setting the value, so any user that registered with that tool will have this issue.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! =)
