Hello

I've been trying to create a new skin using VS.Net 2005 and the "DotNetNuke Skin template". The thing is that the new skin fails to show up in the skin-dropdown menu on, say a pages settings page (or anywhere else you can select a skin)

After a few failed trials i tried to use an unmodified version of the skin tamplate. Nothing changed other than the folder name of the skin (which the template says needs to be changed manualy). I go to the Skin admin page (Where i do see the skin in the "Skins" dropdown). Select my new skin. Do a "Parse skin Package" and the system parses and creates the aspx file and so on. Still, i can't see the skin in any other dropdown, where it's supposed be.

Can anyone help? Am i missing something. Some configuration i didn't do?

Best regards
Terje

I am sure you have checked, but is the skin in host folder or portal? I assume when you parsed the skin no error showed up?

Hi

Yes, there is no error showing up.

The skin is in this folder "Portals/0/Skins/..." (I guess that this is the portal folder?)

After some trial I found out that if i put the skin in the "Portals/_default/Skins/..." folder (this is the host folder right?) I can choose it from the Page Management>Advance Settings>Page skin drop-down, which is what i wanted.

I don't realy understand why it does not work from the protal folder. This is where the VS.Net 2005 "Skin template item" puts it. I would be nice to know why, but a least I can get on testing my skin.

Regards
Terje
