I've uploaded my DNN 4.09 in a subdirectory of my root. the heirerchy is something like this..

<root> folder has all the files to my main website

<dotnetnuke> resides under <root>  and all the DNN files are residing here. i also changed the inheritance of web.config files so that each web.config file can work separtely.

now, on the installwizard screen, i selected AUTO install, everything was SUCCESS and i got a link to acces my portal. when i clicked, i ran in to this problem.

you need to call the domain using the same name you used during install. Once you entered your site as host user, you are able to go to portal settings and add additional domain names as "portal alias".
