Hi Everyone,

Last week our dev server suddently started upgrading and after an hour or two of teeth gnashing it started serving pages again for a little while, however now now is a fairly consistant "This site is currently Unavailable" message (very helpful btw).  The url comes up with <server>Install/UnderConstruction.htm.  Occasionally the page does render, but less than 1 in 7 or 8 tries.

We are in the middle of migrating several applications into DNN (at the suggestion of our vendor, and reconsidering that decision atm) and our developers are somewhat new with DNN.

Thanks!

Can you check the EVENTLOG table in the database to see what errors if any are occurring?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the quick response.

All entries for this morning have LogTypeKey = 'APPLICATION_SHUTTING_DOWN', LogConfigID = 7, LogProperties = <LogProperties><LogProperty><PropertyName>Shutdown Details</PropertyName><PropertyValue>The AppDomain shut down because of the hosting environment.</PropertyValue></LogProperty></LogProperties>.

An update and a new question:

We found that we had several Application Pools with no name displayed, yet when a name was defined the corresponding web site showed the updated name.  After 'renaming' the different App Pools the site started responding again.  2 of the Application pools had the dnn site in the

New question: Is there something in the DNN updating process that does any manipulation of Website and any associated Application Pools?

Or should I just be happy it's working again? ))

It's possible the update is writing to the web.config file which would cause the app to restart
