I am trying to install DNN on my machine when i browse to localhost i get the following error

 

Server Error in '/' Application.

I have no idea how to fix this problem

mae sure, that dotnetnuke is stored in a virtual directory inside your localhost (but physically outside the wwwroot folder) and that there is no web.config file in any directory within your dnn installation folder tree.

could you maybe explain more in detail what you mean? i am i bit lost...

 

In my wwwroot folder i have created a folder called DotNetNuke and in that folder are all the files i downloaded from the DNN (i.e DotNetNuke Install)

 

So what is my next step?must i remove all of these files - what goes in the wwwroot folder and where do i create the new one for the web.config file
