Today, dnn-Europe, Network of European DotNetNuke professionals has been founded. We are a group of European DNN professionals trying to strengthen our network by forming a European DNN professionals group

Why do we think that we need a European DNN professionals group? We anticipate that this is the right scale for this type of group. At a national level, the DNN experts know each other usually quite well as you observed them closely interacting in national user groups. But the number of DNN experts is rather small even within Europe and we mostly have our own informal international contacts. We are still relatively close together and share similar issues. As founders of this group we are aiming to assemble a network that will traverse nationality and language.

One of our first aims is to arrange for a pan-European meeting (aim: early 2009) as meeting each other in person creates more trust and a better understanding. Our experiences from meeting each other yearly at OpenForce prompted us to start this initiative as we came to realize that many DNN experts were not able to participate in the OpenForce Europe event. We hope that our network will help to lower the threshold to involve other members in our projects.

Our second major aim is to focus on localization issues. The global community is understandably dominated by the North American community and localization is less of an issue overseas. For a number of years we have brought localization issues and solutions to the table and many of them have been implemented. However, working on localization solutions in a more coordinated fashion would be certainly more effective. The DNN Core team at times feels overwhelmed by unsorted different requests aggravating their prioritizing. In many cases, we could provide the Core team with working solutions which could be readily considered for implementation, especially as our DNN experts network includes several European core team members.

If you are a DNN professional living in Europe we would like to invite you to join our network. We are forming a private network where one can join through invitation only, unlike public user groups. We are looking for those who make a living using DNN like e.g. developers, designers, integrators, etc. Once you've submitted your data one of us will contact you to ask a few questions to make sure we keep our group focused. So please do not forget to fill in all necessary details that we know where you work, your phone number, etc.

What's in for you? A number of things: firstly, you will get access to a small group of DNN experts including a number of Core team members. If you have an idea and develop code for inclusion in the core, chances are higher that the code of your solution will be examined and passed up to the core architects. Secondly, you will get access to a network of DNN professionals. It is hard to find good people in this field and it will be good for all of us to get to know you. Our network will enable you to acquire business contacts for your client’s projects.

For further details, you may check out our public web site at www.dnn-Europe.net.

If you meet our profile, we would be glad to see you joining our network by registering yourself on our web site.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact anyone of us.
