We have a requirement to have multiple (unlimited) subdomains to point to one single portal.  eg, username1.mydomain.com.au, username2.mydomain.com.au, username3.mydomain.com.au, all going to the same dnn portal.  This is a subscription based application, and we want users to be able to dynamically register and share the same domain name (mydomain.com.au).  Since it is the same application for all registered users, with dynamically built content pages in the dnn application, they will all share the same dnn portal, thus sub-portals won't apply.  We don't want to manually add the subdomains to the portal alias list, but rather specifiy a wildcard for all subdomains.  Thus we would like to configure the portal alias as *.mydomain.com.au.

Anyone know how or if this can be done?

if you specify all subdomains pointing to the same DNN installation in IIS configuration, you do not need to add each subdomain as portal alias, DNN will use the first alias and display its url - which is also preferable for SEO.
