I purchased one of their plans that Includes DNN4.  When i tried to use DNN from their control panel, it tells me that SQL server is not part of that package and that I must pay an additional $8.95 a month in order to use it.  I do get 1 mySQL db with that package but they told me that i cannot use mySQL with DNN4.

So i'm not certain just what exactly they've sold me??

it certainly looks odd. By default DNN only ships with a provider that works with msde, sql express or sql 2000/2005, so to sell a plan with DNN and not supply one of those options does not seem correct. You can use alternative data providers with DNN (we're developing a firebird one, and in time will probably develop a mysql one, but at present I don't believe one exists).

here was my question and their answer

Q. How exactly am i supposed to use DNN 4 if SQL is not part of the
package you sell, when you state that DNN is an integral
part of the package?

A. We just offer DNN as a pre installed package for easier install into
your web application. It has nothing to do with our hosting
offerings. If you want to use DNN you must purchase a SQL package as
well just like any other host would offer. MySql is free and
therefore offered with almost every plan, SQL is NOT free and there
is an additional add on. And DNN uses MS SQL not MySql. DNN is not
specifically part of any of our offerings, we just have it setup so
thats its a easy install for people who want to use it.

Talk about screwing me with thier FinePrint, their Hosting just cost me double becuase of this.
