I found this Amazon's web service looks very interesting. It sounds like virtual hosting but also looks like the VPS program.

Does there anybody have experience with it for DNN?

thanks,

I just spent 3 days with Gogrid.  Nice folks, quick instance setup.  Had DNN running in about 30 minutes.

The problem is - wouldn't stay up for more than 12 hours.  The win 2008 instance would just get VERY slow (30 minute RDP login!).  At that speed - web pages weren't even a possibility.  I have a longer post on the Amazon forum for this.

Now I am moving everything production to EC2 - I have test instance there that run fine.  I liked gogrid because it is more commercial. But at least for me - for right now it won't work.  I'll try it again in a month when they have some new features installed.  I was very disappointed that I couldn't stay to be honest.  Trolling through all the info on Amazon EC2 is not what I want to be focusing on.

I'll post how that goes for DNN hosting.

Greg,

Wondered how you were finding EC2 after having used it for a while. Have you got a dnn instance working on EC2? Are you using their SQL Express or SQL Standard option?

Would be very interested to hear how you're getting on (and I'm sure others would be)
