Trying to configure the Installed version on a Win 2003 server in my office. I get the following error :

  • If using Windows 2003 - IIS6
    1. the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website

Now I am reading thru the install doc and noticed it instructs me to right-click on the physical dotNetNuke folder and choose the "Secutiry" tab; however I cannot get access to the Network Service account. That seems to be the crux of my issue here.

I supposedly have full admin rights to the local login of the server. What do I need to do ?

Thanks,

Bob

Just type it in.

Thanks. I was finally able to add "Network Service" (not "nt authority/network service") to the security tab by typing it in.

However, I am getting the HTTP 404 error "Resource cannot be found" after attempting to run http://localhost/DotNetNuke/install/install.aspx?mode=Install .

At first I got the "Website is under construction" message in IE, but according to the install docs I can trigger the install by the above URL. Upon rerunning that URL I get the HTP 404 message above.

I have another website running in IIS on port 80, but I stopped that other website. I even tried to use port 83 for DNN, but to no avail.

Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bob
