Hoping this is something simple - I had an issue with the Dotnetnuke.Provider.DNNProvider and I read deleting it gets rid of the error, and it did.  Ran the upgrade, everything went smoothly.

Problem is, I can't log in now.  Not getting any error messages, just won't let me log in with Host, Admin, or any AD id I had previously logged in with.

Anyone else?

Did you copied the install version? Sounds like that your web.config file was replaced.

I tried to updatefrom DNN4.8.0 to Dnn5RC2 some minutes ago - it did not work on the first run.  I noticed a lot of dublicate assemblies in /bin/providers and bin. I moved all these assemblies form /bin/providers to the /bin folder, overwritting the old assemblies. Now the intallation went fine, though I wasn't able to go into my portal -some assemblies were missing now. I opend the Dnn5 update zip file and copied all files from bin and bin/provider to installation's bin folder.

Now the portal started, and yes, I was able to login both as admin and as host.

Side note: The AD provider is currently broken.

ack, that's the major reason we're upgrading to 5.  I think in the interest of sanity, I'll fold back to 4.9 and wait for everything else to catch up :)

Thanks for the info tho.

The RC is for testing only, and it is not SUPPORTED and there is no upgrade path to the final.

Even don't think of applying the RC on your production environment.
