Hi Everyone

I am new to the forum and DNN, I have recently had our host company upgrade our site to DNN and we are having endless problems, which unfortuantely they are unable to give a satisfactory answers to...that is why I am here!  Not sure if anyone can assist, however I will ask.

We have a shopping cart on the site and when people click on checkout they are getting a critical error and unable to finalise the order.  The host has said that it is something they are doing.  Does anyone know why this could be happening?

Also, does anyone know how to shorten the address of pages.  At the moment they are really long and I think google is having trouble indexing the site.

Thanks for your time

Hi Erica,

Sounds like your host company had a good idea but poor follow-up. Firstly I suggest you contact one of the professional DNN service providers (you'll find quite a few. Companies like DotNetNuke Corp and Engage to name a few will be able you to keep your DNN safe and doing what you want it to).You won't need to change hosting provider, but you'll get professional support for your installation. For your questions:

- DNN is not a monolithic 'site'. It is a framework with extensions. To be able to help you on the shop we'd need to know which shop module you're using. If this is gibberish to you please follow my advice above.

- Google won't be thrown off by long names. On the contrary: the use of descriptive long addresses helps Google index. This is why they were introduced.
