I've got my main portal created and finally got the skin/content entered the way our client wants. Now I need to start creating subportals so I can show them how to create them, but everytime I create one I get a messsage saying the page cant be found. First I can say I have absolutely no idea how to set this up, from what the correct alias name would be, to whether its a parent or child portal. Right now we don't have a domain pointed to the site, we use the IP address to connect  so I don't know how that will affect the alias either.

The quickest way is to setup using the child portal setup. When you click the button to select child - it will automatically create the domain and you just put in your child portal name.

If you want to use the parten portal you need to put in the full path - eg.. subportal.domain.com  for it to work however you need to have your DNS setting setup so you can see it immediately or it will need to propogate like any website.

So use the child portal button, and put your site name in it and it will work for you.. well.. should work.!
