when i create a portal as a child, after intering in all the information the site works but when i create portals as a parent the site does not work at all...

here is what i am doing. I create the site as a parent then i go to iis and tell it create a website and ponit it to the folder that was created by DNN. but when i navigate to the page via a browser i get :

 

Directory Listing Denied

This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

In the portal ID folder that is created i an geting a bunch of images abd even a css page but i never get a .aspx page...

 

any ideas? I kinda need this fixed asap, is there a tech support number are email for dotnetnuke. (HAHA, LOL, ROFL)

In IIS, set the default document on the new site to Default.aspx.

yes but again there is no default.aspx file created when i create a protal... any ideas?

please does anyone have any ideas? the dnn system is NOT creating that default.aspx page in the portal that it creates

that sounds like a rights issue. Make sure the identity that is used to run the asp.net process (usually NetworkService) has write rights on the root of the dnn installation.

also, please not that there IS a dnn subscription program, that will give you access to first rate support, check here: http://www.dotnetnukecorp.com/Solutions/SubscriptionProgram/Overview/tabid/87/Default.aspx
