argh!

Where are the installation and create project documents? I tried reading the welcome under documentation for the DNN5 zip and it says:

"Congratulations! You have created your own DotNetNuke project.  Please take a few minutes to read this document, as it will help you install and configure your new website."

But how do I create this DotNetNuke project? In a previous mail, you'll see I clicked the visual studio 2008 solution and have errors. I thought it would be as simple as that.

I know in the past when I tried to install this (unsuccessfully then as well), it was listed as  a template for me to start a new DNN project. But I'm not finding a place to install a "template."

Sorry, I guess I must be brain dead, but i'm not getting it. I viewed the video for installation, but was for a 3.x version and how to install to a web server. I want to create a project I can develop with and add to.

Where is the installation documentation? I just am not finding it.

thanks.

Although Mitchel Sellers has not yet written a tutorial for DNN 5 RC2 installation, his tutorial for a DNN 4.9 local install should work fine as the general proceedure is the same:

Also, until you have more experience with installing, module development, etc. use the DNN 5 Install NOT Source version. The source version is good for study of framework code and the extremely rare framework modification but not necessary nor recommended for module development.

Thanks Wlliam. That's what I needed, was to install the Starter Kit, rather than the Source  version.

thanks!
