Helfenj,

I have experience a huge improvement (less logouts) after I did the following:

  1. Go to Host/Host Settings/Advanced Settings/Other Settings
  2. On Performance Setting click “Clear Cache” then select “Light Caching” or “No Caching”
  3. On Module Caching Method select “Disk”

I’ve tried also changing to Caching Method “Memory” and “Heavy Caching”, and it’s almost impossible to stay logged in.

Can you try this to confirm?

Rgds,

It seems that the first issue happens also when a javascript redirect to an URL, see this article from Microsoft

I have found also, a pretty consistent behavior just before I get logged out, and is related to the "DotNetNukeAnonymous" cookie disappearing.  This cookie is created in the UserOnlineController.vb file, inside dotnetnuke.dll, and I thought that is used when Users Online is enabled, so I disabled, but the cookie is created anyway.  Once this cookie is expired (and that occurs randomly), it’s a matter of two clicks and I’m out, and still having the portal, asp, and form cookies.  Is there’s a way to disable the creation of this cookie?

Rgds,

No go. I tried the settings with no improvement....it may even be a little worse.

This is so strange.

Helfenj,

Apparently I have solved the issue with Brinkster.  Use the DotNetNuke.HttpModules.DNNMembership.dll that comes with DNN, just have to persist the Portals and Roles tickets.  If you don’t have a way to do this, I can send you a link to the dll.  On web.config look for <httpCookies httpOnlyCookies=”true”, and change it to “false”.  Open your portal, and disable Friendly URL on Host Settings.

Also, it may have necessary to tell Brinkster support to create a new application pool, but this depends on your account configuration.

 Rgds
