New to DotNetNuke.

Installing v4.0.2 on Win XP 2005 MCE SP2, Vis Web Dev 2005 Express, SQL Server 2005 Express, IIS 6

Everything was going too well ... no problems ...

Build completed with no errors or messages!

IE opened in http:\localhost/dotnetnuke showing a file list.

When I clicked on default.aspx I got the following error and trace.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Server Error in '/DotNetNuke' Application.

I tried:   http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Install/Install.aspx?mode=Install
and got a datasource error!  This pointed to an error in web.config.

In the following delivered documentation file, which I followed explicitly ...
.../DotNetNuke/DotNetNuke_4.0.2_Install/Documents/Welcome.html#Step2
it states ...

There are two places in web.config where you need to verify the connection string.  In the <connectionStrings> node:

and under the <appSettings> node

When I reverted in <connection strings> to the supplied connection string of:

<add
   name="SiteSqlServer"
   connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;
         Integrated Security=True;
         UserInstance=True;
         AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;
"

providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

and rebuilt the service IE started in the file list where I selected Default.aspx ...
DNN started and displayed ... My Website home page with errors in each of the Body sections(?) ...

An error has occurred.
Error: Welcome To My Website... XXXXX is currently unavailable.

where XXXXX was Links, Books, Sponsors etc.

When I reverted in <appSettings> to the supplied key name of:

<add key="SiteSqlServer"
value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;
     Integrated Security=True;
     User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;
"/>

and rebuilt the service IE started in the file list where I selected Default.aspx ...
DNN started perfectly.

So ...

Two minor errors I would like to communicate to the development team.  How do I do that?
Not really important enough for a bug report or are they?

Result:   Another happy bunny, sorry user, so far.

Regards
