but i want know one more thing

In simple ASP.NET web site if we do Localization using .resx file.

ASP.NET 'll automatically handle n-level hirechy of control if App_localresource folder is there?

so why DNN not doing the same thing?

It's also biuld on ASP.NET platform.

Any Answer?

thanks

Hi Sahilmohammad,

There are a couple reasons that the DNN localization system diverged from ASP.NET localization:

1) DotNetNuke provided robust and sophisticated localization support long before it existed on the ASP.NET platform.  Because of the strong need for backward compatibility, the core team cannot simply drop DNN localization support in favor of the new flavor.  Because the two systems are not (easily) side-by-side compatible, it is necessary to disable the ASP.NET version.

2) DotNetNuke localization supports a few scenarios not allowed via ASP.NET localization, such as portal-specific and host-specific localizations.  This is probably the strongest argument against dropping the existing localization subsystem in favor of ASP.NET localization -- there exists a strong use case for portal-specific localizations, in particular.

If you are running in a full-trust environment and wish to run the two methods side-by-side, take a look at my localization BuildProvider located here.

Hope this clarifies things for you!

Brandon

It would be helpful when embedded usercontrols to have their own resx file
