I've upgraded the Events Module to v4.00.02 on my DNN v4.05.03 application. The install went smoothly with no error messages, but my original calendar (and sub-calendar) show no data, and the calendar there doesn't allow edits. When I check the calendar settings, the following error message appears:

Unhandled error loading module.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unhandled Error Adding Module to ContentPane ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: E:\0\1\9\57\1498872\user\1612314\htdocs\dnn\DesktopModules\Events\Settings.ascx(7): error BC30456: 'Page' is not a member of 'ASP.desktopmodules_events_settings_ascx'. at System.Web.Compilation.AssemblyBuilder.Compile() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.PerformBuild() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Modules.ModuleSettingsPage.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.UserControl.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.AddedControl(Control control, Int32 index) at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.Add(Control child) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect this is because the minimum version of DNN supported by verion 4.0.2 of the events module is version 4.5.5. Also for your information, the next release (4.1.0), will require DNN 4.7.0.

Cheers
Roger

Thank you for your prompt reply - my mistake. Do you recommend that I back-out of the Events v4.0.2 until I upgrade to DNN v4.9 first? Then I'll be ready to intall Events v4.1 when it's available. I know this is going backwards, but I don't want to leave my users without a calendar. Thanks for your help.

I suspect you may need to revert your database. To be honest I'm not confident about performing an upgrade to 4.5.5 (which should be fairly pain free) and hoping that the Events module will work. I fear there are some upgrade processes that may need to be re-run, and I'm not sure that will happen automatically.

I would however recommend you upgrade to DNN 4.9 sooner rather than later. There have been many bug fixes and security updates between 4.5.3 and 4.9.0 that make this a really worthwhile upgrade.

Assuming you are on an older version of the Events module (3.3.8), I would also recommend you upgrade to 4.0.2 sooner rather than later. We fixed many bugs in the 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 upgrades that would make it a worthwhile upgrade, rather than just waiting for 4.1.0 which has not as yet reached beta.

Cheers
Roger

Thank you, Roger, for your advise. I'll work on getting the app upgraded to DNN 4.9 with Events v4.0.2. Now to the install/upgrade forums! :) Thank you.
