A fix is availible with the next release.  We ca not handle for each issue a new release.  We have try to release a 4.4.4 vrsion, but it failes the release progress. So it will come with the next one.

If it is going to be a while before the release of 4.4.4, I would like to be able to have some relief for this problem.  I am getting pressure to get away from the DNN forums and use another providers Forums.

Is there any details of what the real issue is?  What subscribing does to fix it? or even details of the code change?  I wouldn't mind patching my websites with a version I compile myself.  The forums is the most important part of our websites and because if this we are loosing members.

The issue is a Session timeout which is not handled in the Forum module.  If you set higher the timeout of the session (web.config) you can solve some of thise issue.  I have more times reported it in some of threads about the same subject.

If you think you must use a other module, you are surly free to do this.

Personally I'd rather keep using the DotNetNuke core modules and support your efforts than go to a third party.

Here is a new instance of the problem.  I installed a new DNN installation. A few days ago.  I have 30 members signed up.  About 6 members are able to post new threads.  The other 24 are not able to create new threads.  I checked the subscription tables and and no one is subscribing to any threads.  Why sould these 6 people be able to create new thread and the other 24 not?  They all have only registered user permission.

When they go to post they get that generic error message.

Could it be that the 6 users registered after the install of the new forum, and the others where already registeed?  If yes, it looks there was a issue on running the install with the iUpgradeable feature.  There is a not simple instruction to fix this.   But I have not the link yet.  It was in a thread I have started about upgrade from 3.2x to 4.4.3.

These are all new websites that were fully upgraded before I opened registration.  Everyone is a new registrant.
