Hi All,

It's been a little while since I have used a DNN portal. I know when I was last using it, speed was big issue. In the general public opinion, has the speed at which DNN opperates improved in recent versions? Are you satisfied with the speed?

Thanks.

Speed has definitely improved with DNN from the earlier versions. 4.4 had some big performance increases and since then there have been tweaks along the way.

There are performance settings on the Host page that can be used to improve performance by enabling compression and caching.

As I recall the last version was 4.1, but that could be wrong. I'm glad to hear that there have been improvements and the ability to adjust compression and cache seems like it could be helpful.

I know my questions is rather difficult as each site is different, but I'm really hoping to get a general public impression. Are people happy with the speed? Have you run into and issues with speed? If so, were you doing something "special" that may have contributed?

Thanks to all.

Speed is fine for me. I need though to operate a ASP.NET keep alive service as people aren't browsing my sites all the time (this is an issue with all ASP.NET sites). If you have a high traffic site you won't need to do this.

I would recommend upgrading/using 4.9.1 as soon as it's out and just get on with it.
DNN 5 is also a consideration as well.
