I too lost all Events in a recent upgrade and will have to figure out how to restore from backup. I can't believe this error wasn't known about and fixed. It has been out there for at least a year. I suppose I should take some of the blame for not logging it to Gemini but I know it was discussed in the forums and it's such a big error I assumed it would be resolved by now.

I suppose this problem (and forum discussion) was already there before the current Events team got into shape (about 9 months ago).

Since the start of current team, we follow the forum very carefully and ask all with problems or suggestions to create issues in Gemini. As a team, we concentrate on the issues in Gemini. We did not review old forum posts (there were more then 3500).

So our request remain to all here: if you have any issue, please report it in Gemini. Do not take anything for granted. You can find the instruction for Gemini in my signature.

That helped, but I also needed to run the following in order to make the Events actually show up:

UPDATE e
Set e.PortalID = m.PortalID
FROM Events e inner join modules m on e.ModuleID = m.ModuleID
GO

update events set RepeatType = 'N' where RepeatType is null
GO
update Events set EventDateEnd = EventDateBegin where EventDateEnd is null
GO

I rerun all DB scripts manually and I'm now up running. the DNN 5.0 lacks reporting regarding module installs.   I go through the "Install additional extensions" and use the lates version from there.  I get no progres information, jush a reload of the page, and either it worked or not.   All modules do not write a log either so it's really hard to backtrack what happen.  Good work though.. Cheers!
