Hi Everyone,

I am new to dotnetnuke and I am trying to create template for page and for that I am using export, import features of a page. I am taking following step to create page template

1) Initially I used export feature to create a simple page template.

2) After that I usied import feature of page so that  I can select the same template I exported and then edit it.

My problem is that I can not see that template in the drop down. I am saving template in Templates folder and on further inspection I found that the template I created gets created under my portal Directory. For example if my portal id is 1 then template is getting created under Portals\1\Templates\Test.Page.Template

but I guess when I am trying to import my Test template then it is looking at Portals\_default\Templates folder.

Is their any way to change the directory structure and make both of them point to same directory structure.

If their is any other easier way to create page template , then please let me know, as I am very new to dotnetnuke. I would really appreciate any help regarding same.

I am using 4.9.0 version of dotnetnuke.

Hey sahil,

here is another thread that describes a similiar issue:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/216485/scope/posts/Default.aspx

I think that one post in particular should help you:

Hope that helps,

Take care,

Hi, go into host settings...advanced settings...other settings.

Add the file extension [template] to uploadable files.

Start file manager and synchronize the template directory.

There you go...you can now see the files in file manager.

Now..add a new page...voila...your templates are visible in the drop down list.

Please comment if this helped you guys out.
