GoDaddy supposedly supports DotNetNuke.  I am getting an error below trying to delete a portal.  The _db_backups folder is auto setup by godaddy and I doubt we will be able to get them to change the permissions on this folder.  How can I get around this?  What are the steps to manually delete a portal?  Or give me direction to extend code to exlcude special folders from DeleteFilesRecursive?  I am using DNN 4.9

if you delete a portal, all files and folders inside the portal homedirectory need to be deleted. Make sure, the virtual use ("Network Service" by default") has full permission for DNN install folder and all subfolders. Do not place references to external folders inside it.

I am not sure if I follow.  I have 7 portals setup with one DNN installation.  For some reason, portals 5 and 6 failed during setup or hanged.  I want to delete those two portals because I was able finally create the portal I wanted (assigned portal id 7).  I get the error above trying to delete portals 5 and 6.  You are saying to delete all files and folders inside the i.e. Portals/5 directory and then delete the Portals/5 directory?  I can use an ftp client to do that.  What about the database side of things.  Tables to update?  The root folder has write persmissions and inherits to all folders and files below.  Remember, we are talking godaddy here - not a lot of flexibility as far as configuration.

Sebastian,

Looking further into this with the portal creation process hung up (errored out) for portals 5 and 6,  the portals/5 and portals/6 folders were never created on the file system.  The pages count is -1 for both.  I guess I just need to clean up the database side of it.  What are the db tables to update?

Thanks,
Dave
