Dear friends,

I have created a law related website and i am using dnn 4.8.1 version. I developed the website in window XP

and now i upgraded to os to windows Vista. I am using Visual Studio 2008, IIS 7, Sql server 2005, dot net framework 3.5

Now when i run the website in localhost, the home page is not getting displayed and i am receiving the following error

Kindly help me in resolving this issue, as i am finding it difficult to trace the source of the error.

All replies are appreciated.

http://localhost:50426/WebSite/Default.aspx

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:

  • You are not connected to the Internet.
  • The website is encountering problems.
  • There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:

Diagnose Connection Problems

More information More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

  • Internet connectivity has been lost.
  • The website is temporarily unavailable.
  • The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
  • The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
  • If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds

  1. Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

  1. Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
  2. Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

I am perplexed whether this problem might be with framework or with IIS...

Kindly guide me... thanking u

regards

deepak

make sure, impersonation is disabled and you are in correct app ppol mode. test the web site using a simple hello.htm file in the root of your DNN installation folder to identify the cause of your problem (if displayed, it is an app site problem, otherwise a routing or permission issue)

Wow, first post for me and I've been a member for years !

The same thing happened to me but it was a problem with my anti-virus. I was running NOD32 - if you are do the following

Setup -> Personal Firewall -> Protocol Filtering

check 'Enable application protocol filtering'

Select HTTP and POP 3 ports

Everything worked for me after that. If you're not using NOD its still worth checking your firewall setting.

Good luck

This looks like Visual Studio's built Proxy server Casini (I see a port number), not IIS7 which needs to be used.
