I am trying to integrate the DNN platform for a subscriber based product.  I want individual "Registered Users" to subscribe and be able to have things like:

Contact Manager - Each registered user can manage their contacts from the system.

Personal Bio Page - Each registered user can create and manage pages on their site.  In the future, I would like to include a ecommerce solution for each subscriber

I have read online how the relationship between super accounts, administrators and registered users work, but I either don't understand of DNN won't work for me.  When I create registered users, it doesn't appear they can manage their own content.  It appears their content is driven from the Administrator content.

So I guess what I am asking is, can registered users (or self created users) manage their own content individually?

or

Should I be using the "Administrator" role for my subscribers since it can manage its own content?

Thanks.

If you go to the page settings then you can specify which role or user has edit permission to the page.  You can do the same for modules as well.  If you want a registered user to be able to edit a module, then you have to specify that they have edit permissions.

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for your reply.  I think what you're saying is that each module may have the ability to allow users to have THEIR OWN content vs. seeing the content from the administrator.

I have been looking around at modules you can purchase and it looks like this is the case.

For example, one contact manager is a "Personal Contact Manager option (users see only their contacts)"

So the DNN base doesn't support this, but modules you can purchase and integrate into the system DO...

Does this sound right?

Thanks!
