I am looking to store modules with DNN installation license. So far I found Catalook and Portal Store.

I can't find Portal Store demo or trial on their site. The developer isn't responding to emails. How does it compare to the core Store?

Anyone has links to live Portal Store stores?

I am wondering how the people who use PS based their purchase with the lack of demos and support

I too am hoping to be able to see a demo of Portal Store. I've looked at Catalook (way too complex and confusing, though extremely powerful), AliCommerce, Smith Shopping Cart (too limited for my needs; no PayPal integration); Active Purchase (very disappointing feature set, but very simple to use), SDNStore (still in the running for me) and YandeStore (still in the running). All of these are available at Snowcovered.com.

Did you have any luck yet reaching the developer?

No.. It's as if he dropped out of the face of the earth. zero customer service. Who on earth sells software where there's no trial download, no online demo and you can't reach anyone!?

There's one review on snowcoverd.com. Maybe it's more productive to contact the reviewer. Anyways I wouldn't touch a piece of software where there's a single developer and they can't contacted... unless you have the source code and can make your own changes.

You could try looking at NB_Store an open source DotNetNuke Store Module.

It might do what you need.

Hello, I dont know if Portal Store is single developed, but yes getting support is next to impossible. I tried to contact em on many occasions and my email never reached destination so i swapped few emails with MailerDaemon and received only "Not Found" answers. However I searched for best possible store module and after reviewing Portal Store details on snowcovered i decided to blindly buy and hope for the best. After few months I can say i don't regret at all. If you are looking for most sotisphicated store out here then Portal Store it is. What i really miss is changelog for builds and trust me there are new almost every week. Other setback is that you cant contact with ANYONE, there isnt community around, not even forum nothing ... I wanted to share ideas, code and i just cant :-( Even this project is so huge, consists of many years of hard work (original Portal Store is since DNN1) its constantly being developed (took just about 2 weeks to upgrade to DNN 5.0.0) and yet its shown as some tiny school project.

I really wonder why devs keep it so low, while it can be mainstream store all around. In package you get store big as hell with 17 additional modules and full sourcecode for store and all modules. Its very easy to make your own modules/skin objects and modify store. I'm not here to promote this product, but as the only user i know of i can say its worth all the money. Codebase and featurebase is so huge, you will barely find something you need to add :-).

If someone is interested I might temporarily setup demo portal for you on my hosting individualy. Params: .NET 3.5, DotNetNuke 5.0.0, Portal Store 6.60.18 (build from 7.1.2009) with all 17 adjacent modules, very fast european 100 Mbit hosting. If you are interested PM me.

PS: I just want to note that I have to set up everything manualy and I also paid for both Store and hosting. I'm willing to help you personaly, but if I get absolute nothing from this I'll probably stop. If you are kind-hearted you might offer donation in return (preferably money). This isnt requirement and you might consider it after you review the module . Thanks.
