Hi Rishi,

at the moment the Blog module allows only one parent blog to be created and managed by a single user account. To manage multiple parent blogs, you'll need to create the corresponding user accounts. We feel from the user's feedback that this is the major limit to the module's usage, so we are moving on version 04.xx.xx to completely re-design the content management architecture. In the future it will be possible both:

  • Multiple parent blogs to be created and managed by a single user account;
  • Multiple user accounts posting to a blog.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Hi Rishi,

in order to allow registered users to create their blog and start posting entries, you need to grant them edit permissions to two of the five controls of the Blog module:

  • The Main View control, where blogs and entries are displayed;
  • The Blog control, where you can see links like "Create My Blog" or "View My Blog" + "Blog Settings" + "Add Blog Entry".

The best way to do this is to leverage on the DNN role based security. You should create a user role called "Bloggers" and add to this role the registered users you want to allow blogging. Then you must grant edit permissions to this role to the two controls I told before. Let me know if you need further help.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
