Hi,

I upgraded one of my sites today and it's made for a terrible day. Had too many issues going from 4.9.0 to 5.0.0 to count so after 6 hours I had to finally restore the DB back to the 4.9.0 backup from earlier. I copied over the files for 4.9.1 so it would automatically upgrade to 4.9.1 when the database was restored, and that worked fine, but not when I try to log in, it takes me back to the home page where I tried to log in from and it show me this error:

A critical error has occurred.
Method not found: 'System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2<System.String,System.String> DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalController.GetPortalSettingsDictionary(Int32)'.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

you might remove all dotnetnuke dlls from /bin folder (do not touch modules and providers) and validate .dll files in /bin/providers. remove authentication providers, you don't need (LiveID, openID, ActiveDirectory and CardSpace).

My installation is telling me I need the liveID dll (it gives me an error without it), and throws this error after I have placed that DLL in the bin directory.

Has anyone resolved this yet? If so, how?

Try putting it in the bin/Providers directory. If you're still having problems then post in the Authentication forum (I check that multiple times a day so I'll see it).
