Dear All,

I am about to get the hosting account from godaddy for the web site that I have developed using DNN. i have googled and found very mixed experiences and mostly i found people with the problems or people with the solutions for those problem.. good thing is that i have found a lot of resolved issues that i may face.. and bad thing is that there are people out there who are facing problems...

please give your sincere suggestions in that regard.. i actually do not have any choice in the selection of hosting provider... as godaddy has been selected by the higher management.. but if I build a strong case with the information you people may provide.. I may be able to change the decision.

Thanks In ADVANCE

love you DNN

What level of hosting are you using with DNN? In my opinion, you generally get what you pay for. I love godaddy, they have cost me a lot of money over the years by making domains so cheap, but I haven't had any good luck with their hosting packages. However, I have only delt with free and cheap hosting from them. If this is a business critical application I couldn't recommend their lower end hosting services.

Well if you google it you find plenty of reasons for/against, but mainly against.
GoDaddy users and 1&1 users seem to be the most frequent posters on this forum. Understand they are cheap for a reason.

Compile your own case here:

I rate this pretty low.

Godaddy seems to have a bottleneck when it comes to SQL server resources so if you plan to have huge forums or multiple portals... be prepared for exceedingly long page-pull times. I've been dealing with their Deluxe Windows Hosting plan for 6 months and now wish I'd selected better. I'm running 04.09.01 and have 20 or portals and one with a forum module with over 1000 threads. This forum module takes over 10 seconds to pull from the SQL server... and sometimes errors out due to SQL server over-utilization.

I'm shopping around again and looking for a host with a little better customer service and capacity planning ability.
