Hye,

I am starting with DNN and I would like to put the country List in a dropdownList of my custom module. Can you tell  me what is the best practice to do it?

Thanks...

Hint1
A table called "List"

Hint 2
Dim listController As New ListController
Dim listEntries As ListEntryInfoCollection = listController.GetListEntryInfoCollection("Country")
lstCountries.DataSource = listEntries
lstCountries.DataValueField = "Value"
lstCountries.DataTextField = "Text"
lstCountries.DataBind()

I haven't done it before. i'll play around with this too.

ok. so it was easy as i expected.

I assume you know how the module works since you are making a custom module already.

1. Have dropdown control(id=ddlCountryList in my case) on UserView.ascx (or whatever you call it)

2. Have following lines in your custom module

Dim lc As New ListController
Dim le As ListEntryInfoCollection = lc.GetListEntryInfoCollection("Country")

ddlCountryList.DataSource = le
ddlCountryList.DataValueField = "Value"
ddlCountryList.DataTextField = "Text"
ddlCountryList.DataBind()

Don't forget include "Imports DotNetNuke.Common.Lists" so you can have access to the DNN built-in List.

You can also have access to U.S. States and Canadian States,,, or whatever you create in Host Setting > Lists
