I'm very simple as far as DNN goes, I installed version 4 via my web space supplier, it was just a next, next, next process.  I have upgraded the modules, simply download them and installed them via the module page.  How do I upgrade DNN itself?  I need simple instructions...

Jason, in my professional opinion I would only upgrade to 4.9.1, not to DNN 5. Not yet

As for how you upgrade. if you're on version 4.6.2 or greater already, you can simply upload the contents of the 4.9.1 Upgrade package to your website. You can do this through FTP, or via standard file copy functionality in Windows if you have access directly to the web server.

Once these files are uploaded DNN will run the upgrade procedures to get your website current.

Always do a backup of the database and file system before performing any upgrades.
