Hi guys. I am running a few sites on DNN3.2.2 on SQL2000, which I am happy with on the whole. I am going to start some new sites and am thinking of putting them on a new hoster running 4.0 and SQL2005.

What benefits will I get from going up to the latest version of DNN, .NET2.0 and SQL2005? Faster - if so, how much? More stable? New features? Is it worth the switch now or waiting a bit?

Thanks

if you need to compile your modules into private assemblies you might want to wait a bit.  IF you can deploy your site in a NON precompiled form then I would go with .NET 2.0

The debugger alone in VS2005 woudl convince me of that ;)

I don't think there are much in the way of concrete advantages to the end user (at least not yet).

However if you're a developer, then the advantage is that with DNN4 you get to use .NET 2.0 and VS2005, which has (depending on your perspective) "lots of cool new stuff!"
