Hi,

I am trying to create a new community website with DNN 5. I expect the traffic to be high.

I am debating about what modules to use specially for forums ---

Is Active Modules much better in performance compare to core forum? Has anyone used both and care to share??

Thanks

I have used both the core Forums and Active Forums.  In my opinion, it's worth paying for Active Modules ( they have a free version now as well ).  Will did an outstanding job with Active Forums and it's been around since DNN 1.1 ( I think ).  The performance, search, usability, etc, etc, etc. with Active Modules is much better than the core Forums modules.   But if your on a very low budget, the core forums will do just fine as long as your willing to live with it's drawbacks.   If you have the time, you should take a few minutes to play around with both of them to see for yourself what module works best for you.

Thanks Chris. I use your modules as well. I am trying to inquire from Active Modules about their Active Social. Looks like it is kind of hard to get reponse from them. I left them voicemail several emails couple days ago. Still no reponse. Are they good in supporting their clients in timely manner?

I called again no one answered the phone. No body reponded to my email or voicemail. I keep hearing good things about the quality of Active Modules  are great. But why is it so difficult to contact you guys? May be you guys are losing business too for your poor communications.
