Hi All.

I had a strange problem when doing the upgrade from 4.9.0 to 4.9.1.

My system was a clean installation without any other modules or settings, plain, running under Vista with SQL-Express.
I use this Test-Env for evaluating new modules prior to publishing them onto production.
So i made a clean installation as i wanted to test some things, found the update and installed it. After the error-less upgrade no user (admin, host, user) was able to log on. I fixed it with a new user registration, copying the password fields in the db to the host user datarecord and everything worked fine again.
Funny enough that i defenitely used the same password then before as it is only my local test-env.

My question is: how can this happen as i've never had similar problems before and i made almost every update since 4.5 or so.....
I'm a little afraid to do the update on my productive env now....

Thanks in advance....

Kai

Did you keep the same machine key in the web.config file after the upgrade?
Sometimes an IIS restart and browser cache/cookies clearout can help also.

Oh sh....

I restarted IIS, cleared cache, deleted temp internet files....made everything equal to the last time i had no problems during upgrade.

But: i forgot the machine-key....

As i read your lines Alex, i remembered what i've forgotten. Ouch

Thanks anyway

Kai

PS: What have we learned: Don't make upgrades after 2 german beers..... ;-)
