Hi All,

I wanted to use the "Allow Syndication" option on several modules.

But after I turn it on and click on the "XML" button, it always return me with empty XML such as below:

-

-

ABCSITE

ABCSITE

do you also experience this kind of problem?

Thanks

I am getting the same symptoms. J_Singal, you posted this in 10/2005 and you have posted other RSS questions about custom modules, I assume you got the core modules RSS Syndicate working? I have searched elsewhere and can't find any help on the subject.

Did you get it working?

How?

Hi Jepeneter,

if you mean the module is News Feed (RSS). Yes I think it's work, you need only to point the address which from where do you want to get a news feed to an URL.

(i.e. http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss)

Hope you can make it works.

When syndication is enabled on a module, the content is generated via a call to the GetSearchItems method of the search indexer. If a module does not implement the optional Entities.Modules.ISearchable interface, and provide an applicalbe GetSearchitems function, then it can't render anything apart from the default xml for an RSS feed. If you're not seeing rss content from a module, then its likely it doesn't implement the interface.
