Hello DNN'ers.  I am new to DNN, giving it a try after using Joomla for many years.  Forgive me for asking, I don't mean to be cheap, but after using Joomla (and Drupal), I have become used to a wide variety of skins and modules being available for free (yes, there are paid content for Joomla and Drupal, but a lot if not the majority is free of charge).  That's one of the reasons I enjoyed those communities.  Just like others, I also made my work available for free.  However, eveything for DNN (skins and modules) seems to be paid content.  Am I missing something, or is DNN for the rich??  Many thanks in advance,

Broke:)

there are a number of free skins and modules, though there is no central repository, but if you google for free DotNetNuke Skin, you will get quite a number. Please note, that even most of the DNN2 Skins will still work in DNN 5

You can find lots of free DNN modules and skins with a little searching.  Maybe not as many as in the Joomla/PHP world, but they are out there.

Here's a few links to get you started.

Be careful installing free skins or modules to your live DNN site. There is no guarantee that they work in your environment. Use a test site. Use Nina's free skins too. http://www.ninasfreeskins.com/ Good luck.
